Steve and nephew David were dropped off at Bear Mountain in NY, set to head North. The previous year, they'd come south from the Vermont/Mass. line and had gotten off the trail earlier than planned. This segment was to start at the Hudson River in NY, cross over and through Connecticut and finish at Great Barrington, MA.
